Audio not evaluated due to normal sounds of vacuuming and music from a nearby establishment.  Any recorded material would have been contaminated.

Five hours and 20 minutes of video still under evaluation, cursory review did not reveal anomalies.

Approximately 807 still photos under review.

Employees questioned had nothing unusual to report from their time of employment at this location at initial contact.  Several commented they prefer not to be alone in areas of the theatre.  Reports of lighting issues were contributed to old wiring as a possible explanation.

Areas of interest for follow up:

1: NE hallway, lower level near the “star’s” dressing room

While touring the lower hallway in the dressing room area, a Gauss Master Meter in a padded case registered by tone high readings without activation.  Tone was continuous for more than two minutes

Normal operation is by holding in the button on the side of the unit. The small meter is hand-held, with a needle read scale (0-10 mG), with an audio signal. This meter measures the level of EMF magnetic field radiation from electrical sources.

The area did have large electrical sources as well as water collection below the concrete floor.  A hole in the floor was examined but the bottom was beyond light sources available, depth was not determined. At the time, in a nearby room electrical panels were noted and thought to have influenced the meter’s activation and audio tone.

Shortly after in the same area the psychic noted a change in the energy, she requested a still photo be taken.  In the photo is an orb beside her.  Video at that time does not include this immediate area or any anomalies.

A short discussion concerning the electrical sources as the possible influence for both situations was noted, as well as a note to return to the area to gather more data and try to duplicate the situation.  Time did not allow the team to reexamine this area.

2:  NW storage room under balcony seating

Again while touring the building; several team members entered a long storage room under the balcony seating on the north side of the building.  This room had only one entrance/exit. All but one team member manning a video camera had exited the room while another was standing at the entrance to the room.  The member at the entrance saw two people, the cameraman and someone going around a corner at the end of the room.  This team member walked past the cameraman to see who went around that corner but there was no corner and no one was there.  Two team members reported the feeling of touch, the area was examined for webs, string or any item that could logically explain the situation.

Later two team members returned to this storage room.  One sat at the end of the storage room, the other mid way of the room.  They sat quietly when the team member at the far end requested a photo be taken, “I had a feeling of someone touching my hair in the second floor storage room.  April and I were sitting in the dark and after about 5 minutes I felt the hair on top of my head moving.”  Air vents, returns, drafts, webs or items hanging were found that might explain.  Pictures taken at that time did not indicate any anomalies.

*After the report was submitted GHG was informed that a former employee reported an encounter someone dressed in black in this storage area on several occasions.

3:  W third floor upper hallway

The third floor hallway mid-section on the west side of the building had a slight drop in temperature in the center section of the hallway.  A photo taken when the temperature drop was noted included an orb in motion low along the carpet.  There weren’t any vents, return air registers or insects noted.

4: Mezzanine balcony area overlooking the lobby  During the tour of the rounded mezzanine balcony area, the odor of cigarette smoke was noted.  Later a team member reported the odor of cigar smoke on the south side of the balcony railing; this lasted for approximately 45 seconds.  No smoke was visible and the odor dissipated.  Approximately 30 minutes passed; from the north side of this same area the odor of fresh cigarette smoke was noted.  Cleaning staff was at the south end of the balcony area cleaning the restroom. When questioned, the response was that smoking was not allowed in the building.  No odor or visual of smoke was noted at the south end of the balcony.

5:  Balcony Box B area In the entry to Balcony Box B seating area, the psychic noted a change in the energy; a feeling of apprehension was also noted.  Orbs were photographed from several cameras and angles in the area.  Team members monitored this area for an extended time.

6: Equipment malfunctions

Six of six digital cameras experienced battery failure.  Each camera is a different brand and model.  New batteries were installed before the investigation began.

Both disposable and rechargeable batteries were in use.  Normal battery life for these cameras is 450 to 800 photos.  Cameras became sluggish or non operational at an average of 90 photos. (Camera models: HP Photo Smart, Minolta Dimage S414, Nikon 10.2 SLR, Canon Power Shot A75, Canon Power Shot 550 and Kodak DX3900)

Batteries supplying power for the mini audio/video wireless color cams began to fail after one hour.

One Gauss Master Meter stored in a padded leather case registered by tone high readings without activation.

The data listed above merely suggests areas of interest at this time.  Singularly the notes are not definitive of paranormal activity, but combined suggest more information is needed. A closer review of the areas mentioned, scrutiny and searches for logical explanations as well as attempts to recreate the situations may substantiate or disprove.

Agreed, orbs are highly debated; alone orbs in digital photographs most often can be explained by normal digital camera operation and air borne particles.  Flash light tests did not indicate extreme volume of air borne particles, moisture was ruled out due to humidity levels measured inside the building except in the two areas where standing water was evident.  Normal movement such as walking and air circulation will move particles; the flash reflects creating false anomalies in photos.  A majority of orb photographs are taken with digital cameras in low-light conditions and are thought to be flaws caused by lack of pixels or filling of colors due to a digital defect.  The lighting in the theatre was normal until the last half hour when we requested the lights be lowered.  The orb anomalies did not increase with the change in lighting.

Test photos were taken in the area where vacuuming was underway, orb anomalies were expected but not documented.

Theatres are places having experienced a wide range of emotions by staff, audiences and performers.  Normal daily activity and patterns of movement will leave an energy imprint.  This residual energy would be similar to a movie replaying over and over.  Due to the age of the building and the number of people that have walked through the doors at the Saenger Theatre GHG did expect to encounter some form of residual energy.  This may be the case with the sighting of the person thought to be a GHG team member in the storage room.  Unfortunately we were not able to validate that sighting; however the two-team members that returned to that same area did have an additional experience of touch – a possible validation.
