Decreased Activity?

Has there been a decrease in paranormal Activity ?

In an article at the Guardian,  Tony Cornell of the Society for Psychical Research, the UK's most prestigious ghost-busting association has commented that  there's the slump in reports of haunting.. Cornell has been investigating ghosts for 50 years but hasn't been using his £8,000 of poltergeist-detecting equipment of late. "The society used to get maybe 60 to 80 reports of ghosts in a year," he says. "Now we get none. None at all. A remarkable decline. It is still very strange."

Tom Perry of the Green Bay Press Gazette posted an article as of June 20th that contradicts a possible decrease of paranormal activity.

"Debra Anderson, Area Research Center coordinator at the Cofrin Library, said people are coming in to ask for help because they think their property is haunted.

“This is something new,’’ she said. “We’ve just started to have these requests in the last year or so.’’

Increase in queries

Anderson has been at the Area Research Center for 15 years. While there may have been similar requests in the past, she said, “We never got enough to notice.’’

There have been about eight requests in the past year, Anderson said. The staff on the seventh floor is now going by the nickname “Ghost Hunters.’’ For the most part, the requests for information have followed a similar pattern."

If you've been wandering the side-streets and alleys of our ghost village this month, you've no doubt seen a lot happening! We've posted a record number of new ghost encounters, a record number of new age book reviews, we've had more than 300 people register for our message boards in just the last month.

This is exciting. I love seeing all of these people from so many different walks of life and so many countries coming together to share their experiences and views on the supernatural. I'm learning so much from all of you -- and I appreciate it -- you keep me coming back! The subject of ghosts, spirituality, and the supernatural is gaining ground -- there are so many groups, publications, television shows, and Web sites all offering their unique perspective on the subject, and we should celebrate all of them.

What are your thoughts?  Let us know, do you feel that paranormal activity has decreased over the past year ?
